Good gluten-free bakeries in Aix-en-Provence where you can find gluten-free bread and pastries? You can find them here!
I’ve lived in Aix for over 10 years and I’m not going to lie to you, it’s not always easy to find gluten-free bakeries in Aix-en-Provence, whereas in Marseille it’s a bit easier!
I’ve done my homework and come up with a few nuggets of good food from gluten-free bakeries in Aix-en-Provence.
I’ve found three addresses where you can find gluten-free bread. Let’s discover them together?
1. La Fabrique du pain, for gluten-free bread made with rice flour and buckwheat
4 rue Pierre de Coubertin 13100 Aix-en-Provence; open from 09:00 – 19:00 Monday to Saturday & from 09:00 – 13:00 on public holidays to enjoy this great gluten-free bread!
At La fabrique du Pain, you can find good gluten-free bread made from rice and buckwheat flour enriched with sunflower, linseed and poppy seeds. On sale in the shop every day, this good bread is prepared in a bakery used to make basic breads. However, La Fabrique du Pain takes every precaution to reduce cross-contamination as much as possible: cleaning the vats, using specific tools for gluten-free bread). So beware of coeliacs, but perfect for intolerants!
The teams are really top-notch, very attentive and passionate about what they do. On top of that, they speak English (you never know… even if it’s difficult to travel at the moment, it’s still a good thing for foreigners!)
A little strategic information: you can reserve your bread on 04 42 23 90 47, and if you want to order more than 3 pieces, please order 72 hours in advance (so that as many people as possible can be served!).
Ps: for those with a sweet tooth, they have some delicious little coconut Rochers… (and they’re gluten-free, of course!)
2. Le Goût du pain, for certified gluten-free bread
105 Avenue de Bredasque, 13090 Aix-en-Provence, France, open every day from 7:30 to 19:30 except Sunday, open from 7:00 to 13:00.
The only address I’ve managed to find for gluten-free bread for coeliacs in Aix-en-Provence is in Jas de Bouffan at Le Goût du pain.
To order it, call +33 4 42 20 68 38 and ask them when you can collect it.
3. Le pain quotidien, not strictly speaking a bakery, but a place to find gluten-free bread
Go to 5 Place Richelme, 13100 Aix-en-Provence, France, open from 8:30 to 15:00 every day except Saturday, when they close at 16:00!
It’s not a real bakery, but you can still order yourself a nice little brunch with good gluten-free bread. Between their gluten-free sandwiches, all of which can be adapted for gluten-free eaters, and their brunch with the option of swapping pastries with organic, gluten-free Belgian brownies, you’re in for a treat!
