Rome, the city of lovers, history and food! We love the Romans for everything they have to offer. We have lots of gluten-free restaurants coming up, but we wanted to start with this one, which is one of our favourites! So happy reading! If you’re looking for a lactose-free and gluten-free restaurant in Rome, Mama Eat is the place to be!

The first important thing to know is that they have a separate gluten-free kitchen with a different chef!

So no cross-contamination problems!

And what’s really nice is that the gluten-free food is served on a gluten-free plate … aren’t we lucky?

The second thing to know is that they have a huge gluten-free menu with pizzas (which are also lactose-free), pasta (incredible… you can’t imagine if you don’t try it once!), fried calamari, tiramisu, which can also be lactose-free! and much more…

What’s more, you can’t even tell that their food is gluten-free and lactose-free (especially the pizza!).

The food is incredible! ( I think I’m repeating myself haha) But trust me! Their pizza crust tastes like a totally normal pizza!

Finally, the staff are amazing. The first thing they do when you arrive at the restaurant is ask if you are gluten free or not! So you’re safe! And they speak perfect English!

Sometimes I feel like an annoying customer when I eat in any restaurant, even in some gluten-free places, don’t you? With them, there’s no risk, believe me, just come as you are!

I don’t know if you feel the same as I do: I’m always afraid that when they say it’s gluten-free, it’s not really, because they might not understand what I’m saying…?

Well, once again, you can rest assured at Mama Eat, because they know what they’re talking about.

This restaurant is very close to the Basilica of Santa Maria. Are you close by? If not, we have other very good gluten-free restaurants in Rome.

You can also find Mama Eat in Naples and Milan! You can’t miss it!

By the way, in Italian, gluten-free is ‘senza glutine’: add a little singsong accent at the end and that’s it!

But you can find all this information on the first page, which shows all the gluten-free Italian towns we visited.

I can’t wait to hear your feedback on this lactose-free and gluten-free restaurant in Rome!

Ciao!
